<p>Rekha rejoices in the fond memories of her childhood when her mom and grandmother used to make mouth-watering pickles at home. Her passion for pickles grew at home and she started her pickle business 3 years ago. Before the pickles business, Rekha had a sweets (mithai) business which she ran for almost 13 years. Her current focus is on pickle business and transferring her skill of making pickles to women living across the country looking forward to starting their entrepreneurial journey. </p>

Ms. Nanda Maharjan Home-based producer, (Member of SABAH)

<p>Nanda has been making various designs of bags - be it normal tote bags for grocery shopping or trendy handbags. She along with her friends watch youtube videos on getting ideas to design bags. Nanda used to work in the garment sector before her marriage. This induced interest in getting into tailoring for Nanda. She learned this skill early on which has been helping her earn income.  She believes that if one has limited academic qualifications then mastering a skill will help in gaining financial independence. </p>

Ms. Parbati Chaudhary, Home-based producer

<p>Parbati worked in a restaurant run by a guest house. She would deliver the lunches ordered by the nearby organizations. One day while delivering food at a cooperative she came to learn about the training on tailoring being organized there. She inquired about the participation and found out being eligible to participate. She completed her training and started using her skills which earned her additional income. Now, Parbati makes embroidered handbags that are popular among ladies in her community.</p>

Ms. Basumaya Tamang Owner, Nepali Mann Udhyog

<p>Basumaya is the proud owner of Nepali Mann Udhyog. She started her business in the year 2010 and her products consist of a variety of pickles having base ingredients such as timmur chhop  (a mixture of powdered chili and Sichuan pepper)  and these pickles come in different flavors such as buff, chicken, and shrimp. There were already various pickle businesses running quite well when Basumaya thought of starting her own business. She then came up with the innovative idea of using timmur chhop as her base ingredient to make pickles. This has now become a big hit in the market and her business is quite successful.</p>

Ms. Rupmati Bhandari Home-based producer, (Member of SABAH)

<p>Rupmati is very dedicated and active in community service work. She has volunteered for social work in her ward area. She is very good at tailoring and this skill has provided her identity as well as income. After passing the School Leaving Certificate (SLC), Shanti took three months tailoring course provided by CTEVT and since then she has been in this profession. She has been working with the local government at the ward level for various social activities and has also provided training on tailoring to women interested in learning the skill.</p>

<p>Shanti calls herself a fashion business owner. She lives with her five family members and it was difficult to financially depend on a single person for all the household expenses. Therefore, 8 years back she took training on tailoring to be able to earn some income and support family expenses. Shanti had made a good decision back then, now she runs her own tailoring business based at her home. She shares not just clothes, she also makes handbags and tote bags as well. </p>

Ms. Sarita Karmacharya Home-based producer, (Member of SABAH)

<p>Sarita has a creative streak and is passionate about creating bags and purses. She has taken training on tailoring especially in making bags and it's been almost three years that she has been making various designs of them. While making new designs she likes to share her skills with others as well. Therefore, she provides training on making bags time and again. When asked where she learned or got the design ideas, she excitedly mentioned about youtube videos and self-learning. Sarita wants to bring in the trendy designs of bags so that people would love to carry them.</p>

Ms. Bhawana Dhakal Home-based producer, (Member of SABAH)

<p>Bhawana has been in the tailoring business for 12 years. She not only stitches to earn from it but also transfers her skill to women who are willing to take tailoring as a profession. She is associated with a cooperative; she is involved in supporting fellow members while time and again various skill development training is arranged by the cooperative. 3 years back she got training on making reusable sanitary pads. Bhawana not only made reusable sanitary pads but also communicated the benefits of using them. Bhawana is looking forward to learning new product design as well as transferring her knowledge or skills to others.</p>

Ms. Binita Maharjan Home-based producer, (Member of SABAH)

<p>Binita started knitting as a hobby while she was in school. She learned it from her mother. She had not imagined that her hobby would one day turn into her profession. Binita has been knitting professionally for 10 years now. She feels that she is yet to tap a larger market to be able to earn a larger income. She feels that she needs more marketing of her product and a better network so that she can grow her business.</p>
